Privacy

The Short Version

This site runs no analytics and no advertising trackers. Nothing you do here is measured or profiled. The only information I hold is what you deliberately send me—a message, a newsletter signup, or an order—and I don’t sell any of it.

Who Runs This Site

matthewweger.com is owned and operated by Matthew Weger, composer, arranger, and bass clarinetist. The site is built with Astro, hosted on Netlify, and sells digital sheet music (PDF) through Payhip.

What I Collect

• Contact details. Your name and email, when you send a message or subscribe to the newsletter (handled by Netlify Forms), or when you check out (handled by Payhip).
• Order details. Which files you bought, the transaction ID, and your order history—held by Payhip.
• Payment details. Processed entirely by Payhip and its payment processors. I never receive or store your card number.
• Server logs. Netlify records standard request data (IP address, browser, device) as part of hosting the site.

What I Use It For

• Delivering your purchases and sending order confirmations
• Answering messages you send me
• Sending the newsletter, if you asked for it—unsubscribe any time
• Meeting legal and tax obligations

I do not sell or rent your personal data, and I never have.

Third Parties

These services are involved in running the site, each under its own privacy policy:

• Netlify—hosting, and the contact and newsletter forms
• Payhip—checkout, payment processing, and file delivery
• Google Fonts—the two typefaces are served from Google’s servers, so your browser’s request for them includes your IP address
• YouTube—a few work pages embed a performance video. These use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), which sets no cookies unless you actually press play.

Cookies & Local Storage

There are no analytics or advertising cookies on this site. What does get stored:

• Payhip sets cookies to keep your cart and checkout session working
• YouTube may set cookies if you play an embedded video
• Your light/dark theme choice, and whether you’ve already seen the premiere announcement, are saved in your own browser’s storage. Both stay on your device and are never sent to me or anyone else.

How Long I Keep It

Only as long as it takes to fill orders, answer you, or satisfy legal and tax requirements. You can ask me to delete your information at any time, apart from records I’m legally required to keep.

Sharing

I don’t sell or rent your information. It goes to the services listed above only so far as running the site and filling orders requires, or where the law compels it.

Security

Your data is handled with the protections built into Netlify and Payhip, including encryption in transit and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, and I won’t pretend otherwise.

Children

This site isn’t directed at children under 13, and I don’t knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with a new effective date.
