Program Notes

Feuilles mortes, from the second book of Debussy’s Préludes (1913), arranged for Pierrot ensemble with vibraphone. The arrangement keeps the original’s stillness, with the bass clarinet anchoring the low end and the vibraphone taking over much of the piano’s resonance.

Performance Notes

Flute, bass clarinet, violin, cello, piano, and vibraphone. Slow and quiet throughout; most of the work is balance at pianissimo.
